Use your Martin's Point Prepaid Mastercard® to pay directly for select items covered under your Generations Advantage Wellness Wallet and Eyewear benefits, up to your plan's annual allowance - eliminating the need for cash upfront or reimbursement requests.

How to Use Your Card

Sign your card.

Your card is active and ready for use. It is loaded with the full amount of your Wellness Wallet and Eyewear allowances for eligible items/services beginning on your plan effective date.

Check your funds and available balance often.

Balances are available at your Generations Advantage Member Portal.

You can also call Generations Advantage Member Services at 1-866-544-7504 (TTY: 711) between 8am–8pm, every day from October 1–March 31 and weekdays from April 1–September 30.

Swipe your card at participating retailers for eligible items.

At this time, card use is limited to eligible items at select retailers, and major eyewear retailers (see below for details).

If your card is declined, you will need to use an alternative payment method to complete your purchase. Save your receipts, as your purchase may still be eligible for our online or by-mail reimbursement process. Visit the Wellness Wallet page for step-by-step instructions.

Keep your card from year to year.

Do not throw your card out at the end of the plan year. It will be reloaded annually while you are enrolled in your Generations Advantage plan.

What to Use Your Card For

You may use your card to purchase any item/services eligible through your Wellness Wallet and Eyewear benefits that are available at participating retailers (see list below).

If your card is declined, you will need to use a different payment method to complete your purchase. Save your receipt, as your purchase may still be eligible for reimbursement online or by mail.

Important Note: The card IS NOT for use with other Generations Advantage benefits, including CVS Over-the-Counter purchases, dental, medical, or prescription copays, etc.

Your Martin's Point Prepaid Mastercard can generally be used at the following types of facilities and specialty shops for memberships, classes, lessons, passes, and approved equipment:

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need to activate my Martin's Point Prepaid Mastercard before using it?
    • No. Your card arrives active and ready to use once your enrollment is in effect. Please sign the back of your card.
  • Can I add my Martin’s Point Prepaid Mastercard to my digital wallet (e.g., Venmo, PayPal, ApplePay, etc.)?
    • No. The Martin’s Point Prepaid Mastercard is not compatible with digital wallet platforms. While it may appear that you have successfully added the card to a digital wallet, it will not work when you try to use it for transactions. You will need to use the card directly or use a different form of payment to complete a transaction, save the receipt, and file a claim for reimbursement.
 
  • Where can I use my Martin's Point Prepaid Mastercard?
    • At this time, card payments for Wellness Wallet items and Eyewear purchase are only accepted at a limited number of retailer types for items in certain categories only. Participating retailer types include: Bike and cycling shops, bowling alleys, golf courses, gyms and fitness facilities, pickleball facilities, pool/YMCA, ski mountains, and tennis clubs. Note that not all retailers of these types participate in card usage.

  • Can I use the card to purchase any items on the Wellness Wallet and Eyewear lists of benefit-eligible items/services?
    • No. At this time, card payments are available for items in certain categories available at certain retailers only. Those categories include eligible items/fees available at participating retailers, including: Bike and cycling shops, bowling alleys, golf courses, gyms and fitness facilities, pickleball facilities, pool/YMCA, ski mountains, and tennis clubs. 

  • Can Martin’s Point confirm if a specific retailer will accept the card?
    • At this time, we are unable to confirm if a specific retailer will accept the card. As noted above, there are retailer types that can accept the card, but not all retailers of that type participate.
    • We recommend that you try using the card and, if the transaction declines, you may purchase the item with another form of payment and submit receipts for reimbursement up to your annual allowance.

  • Can I use my card to pay for medical or prescription copays or OTC?
    • No—the card is exclusively for use with the Wellness Wallet and Eyewear benefits. The card CANNOT be used for any other plan benefits, including the CVS Over-the-Counter benefit, dental, medical and prescription copays, etc.

  • Last year, I was able to use the card to buy an item. I tried to buy the same item this year, but my purchase was declined. Why?  
    • This could happen for several reasons. 
      • The list of eligible Wellness Wallet items varies from year to year. If an item is not on the approved list for the current plan year, it is not eligible for card purchase or reimbursement.
      • As noted above, there are select types of retailers and categories of items where the card may work. It’s possible that the item you purchased last year is no longer in an eligible category for this year. 

  • Can I use the card for a fitness class that is not held at a larger fitness facility?
    • No. The card will not work at the point of sale for standalone fitness classes not tied to a larger facility. You may pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement for these classes. 
  • How do I know how much of my benefits’ allowances are on the card?
    • Balances are available at your Generations Advantage Member Portal at MartinsPoint.org or call Martin’s Point Generations Advantage at 1-866-544-7504 (TTY: 711) and choose option 1. This is available 24 hours a day.

  • Can I combine my Wellness Wallet allowance amount with my Eyewear allowance amount and use the total toward an eligible purchase?
    • No. Your card is loaded with two separate balances—one for your Wellness Wallet allowance and one for your Eyewear allowance. These separate balances cannot be combined.
    • Please Note: The benefits refresh yearly. Unused balances do not carry over to the next year. The available balance is updated automatically after each purchase is completed.

  • What happens at the end of the year (or if I disenroll from the Generations Advantage plan before the end of the year)?
    • As of January 1 each year, any funds remaining on the card from the previous year are deleted. If you continue your plan enrollment into the next year, keep the card and the new plan year’s benefit allowances will be loaded onto the card on January 1.  If you disenroll from the plan during the year, any remaining balances are deleted as of your disenrollment date.
 
  • Do I select “Credit” or “Debit” at the retailer’s card reader when making purchases?
    • If you do not set up a PIN, select the “Credit” option. If you prefer, you may set up a PIN and use the PIN with the “Debit” option to access your funds. To set up a PIN, please call 1-866- 898-9795.  Please note—PIN set up will not be available until after your plan enrollment is effective.

  • How do I use the card when the price for the item I am purchasing exceeds the allowance amount on my card?
    • You will need to know your available allowance balance(s) prior to using your card.
    • To use your card for a partial payment, simply ask the cashier to apply the available dollar amount to the card first (you will need to tell the cashier what this amount is) and pay the balance using your own preferred payment method. Be sure to keep your itemized receipt and proof of purchase. Your available balances can be found through your Member Portal or by calling Member Services.

  • What should I do if my card payment is declined ?
    • You may purchase items using your own preferred payment method and request reimbursement online or by mail up to your annual allowance. Be sure to save and submit copies of your itemized receipts and proof of purchase.

  • Do I need to keep itemized receipts/ proof of purchase for each card transaction?
    • Yes, always keep itemized receipts/proof of purchase. You may be contacted by the Martin’s Point Generations Advantage team to submit receipts to verify that expenses comply with your plan’s guidelines. Handwritten receipts  and estimate sheets are not accepted.
