Find Your Local Urgent Care Clinic
Urgent care centers typically operate beyond your PCP's regular office hours and are often less expensive than an Emergency Room. Most urgent care clinics are open seven days a week, often outside of normal business hours.
Your plan covers urgent care services worldwide, even if the facility is not in-network.

For symptoms of a heart attack, stroke, or other serious medical emergency, please call 911 immediately.
The Emergency Room (ER) is the best choice when you are in need of immediate or advanced care for limb- or life-threatening conditions or injuries.
Use for the following:
Sudden severe pain, trouble breathing or talking, injuries from a major accident, stroke or heart attack symptoms (see below), displaced bone break or fracture, uncontrolled bleeding, serious injuries to the head or eyes, etc.
Cost: Highest cost (varies by facility and treatment needed)

Wait time: Depends on condition; typically has longer wait times
Seeking Care at an Emergency Room (ER)
It is important to identify the location of your closest ER facility so you will know where to go during a life-threatening event. All hospital ERs are open 24 hours every day. Unlike urgent care clinics, ERs offer access to specialists and are equipped for advanced treatment options.
Admittance time at an ER is dependent on the severity of your condition or injury. The average wait time for non-emergencies is approximately 90-120 minutes.
After an ER visit, it is recommended that you schedule prompt follow-up care with your PCP. This will allow your PCP to monitor your condition or injury and discuss any additional steps that should be taken.
